Overview
Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, formerly know as Big Trout Lake is located approximately 400 km northeast of Sioux Lookout, with an on-reserve population of approximately 960. In 1991, Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug declared its independence from First Nation organizations and chose to pursue their community aspirations and objectives on a nation to nation basis with the government of Canada.
