Community and Capital Planning
The Technical Services Department provides technical advisory services to member First Nations related to Community and Capital Planning as follows:
- Assist in the development of the Five Year Annual Minor Capital Plan
- Assist in the preparation of preliminary costs associated with the plan
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of project Terms of Reference
- Assist in the review of technical proposals, designs, cost estimates and specifications
- Advise and assist in the tender of construction projects
- Reviewing minor capital funding submissions
- Assist in the completion of progress and completion certificates for minor capital projects
In addition to the above, the Technical Services Department can also serve as a project representative for minor capital projects by:
- Assisting in the development of the required documentation for project submissions
- Identifying the availability of local resources, labour, material, equipment and contractors and suppliers
- Monitoring projects by attending project meetings, reviewing plans and specifications and performing site inspections
- Assisting with the preparation of project status reports and completion certificates
