Lethal Risk of Contamination Identified

Below is a September 2021 statement from Thunder Bay Drug Strategy. Please be advised that a dangerous substance has been found in prescription and illicit drugs. This substance is 10 to 20 times more potent than fentanyl, leading to a higher risk of overdose and death.

The IFNA Health Services Department wants to remind communities to have multiple Naloxone kits available. Be sure to check the expiration dates to ensure the kits are usable.

Contact your local health care providers for information on where to access or exchange Naloxone in your community.
