On February 25th, 2025, IFNA's Mental Health and Addictions Team will be hosting a Substance Use Forum, bringing together frontline workers from IFNA member communities to engage in meaningful discussions about substance use, harm reduction, and community-based care. This hybrid event—available both in-person and virtually—will provide a platform for learning from experienced healthcare providers and sharing knowledge on critical topics like opioid use treatment, stimulant use trends, and the impact of polysubstance use on overdose risks.

With expert panelists including Nurse Practitioner Mae Katt, Dr. Sharon Cirone, and specialists in harm reduction and public health, the forum will cover emerging challenges such as fentanyl contamination, stimulant-related behavioral changes, and the evolving role of Sublocade in treatment. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in Q&A sessions and community discussions, fostering collaboration and shared learning across IFNA communities.
