On February 11 – 13, 2020, IFNA hosted the IFNA Health Summit in Thunder Bay at the Travelodge Airlane Hotel. Delegates working in health in each of IFNA’s five communities attended the event.

FNHC focuses on providing effective housing solutions to First Nations Communities. It is the only National Housing Conference run by First Nations for First Nations, by bringing in knowledgeable professionals from across the country.

The annual First Nations Housing Conference (FNHC) took place February 26-28, 2019, in Thunder Bay at the Valhalla Inn. 2019 marks the conference’s 17th year of bringing information, skills, and mentorship to First Nations Communities in Ontario and across the country.

The Muskrat Dam First Nation Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Upgrade is intended to bring the system into compliance with Federal and Provincial regulations and allow the boil water advisory to be lifted.

IFNA is establishing a new direction and expanding to better support its member communities. Added services and additional staff have created a renewed IFNA with more exciting changes to come.

Mere months after being elected Chief of Pikangikum First Nation, Chief Amanda Sainnawap made the difficult decision on May 30th, 2019 to declare a State of Emergency in Pikangikum due to a large nearby forest fire that was blowing heavy smoke into the community.
