Housing Accelerator Fund Supports New Housing Initiatives in Muskrat Dam Lake First Nation

Muskrat Dam First Nation would like to thank the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and the government of Canada for their contribution of $1,704,000, awarded through the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) to support an action plan comprised of 6 local initiatives to build more homes, faster. The initiatives to be delivered via this funding will boost housing supply by at least 36 units within our community and will encourage a diverse range of affordable housing types to enable the construction of more housing units at a faster rate. The awarded HAF funding will allow Muskrat Dam Lake First Nation to not only develop 36 new units, but increase long term internal capacity for planning and sustainable growth. The 6 initiatives to be delivered are as follows:
Consultation and Education to Support Community Consensus for Different Types of Housing
Subdivision Lot Detailed Design and Community Consultation
Subdivision Tender Document Developed & Issued
Missing Middle Subdivision Development Construction
Establishing relationships with non-profit providers, creating and preservation/ implementation of affordable housing
Updating Housing Needs Assessment to Accelerate Housing Supply at Muskrat Dam Lake First Nation
